Want to go 0 · Skip 0 · Undecided 151

You do not need to tap every one. If you tap none, it means "fine either way", and it is fitted in by convenience when planning. Tap "Want to go" only for places you clearly want, and "Skip" for places you clearly do not; tap again to undo.

The place library has 151 places you can visit, grouped by area; within each group, the ones mentioned in more guides come first. For places you want to go to, you can also choose which day (choose "Any day" if unsure). You do not need to pick restaurants: the plan recommends nearby ones based on where you are each day. When you are done, tap "Copy for agent" at the bottom and paste the text to any agent so it can plan around it.

Your selections are stored only in this device's browser; switching phones or clearing the cache loses them, but the copied text is not lost. Transport and lodging are not listed here. Ratings and photos for hiking trails are on sites such as AllTrails; tap the button on the card to go there (opens in a new window).

"Want all" does not change places already marked "Skip"; when you filter by category, it only changes what you can see. "Clear" removes both Want to go and Skip.

Notes Cards only, no cash; the half-price student ticket is sold only at the window on site. The official page does not say whether ISIC is accepted, only "valid student photo ID". In October the paid hours are 9:00–19:00; after 19:00 and before 9:00 the upper level is also free (the rule for 10-01 to 05-31). 10-23 is free all day, not in the itinerary. Xiaohongshu says "Parliament lit up at night is stunning, save it for last and shoot it after dark"; the outside is free, and the inside tour needs a booked ticket
Admission Adult Non-EEA adult 14,000 Ft (about €36); EEA adult 7,000 Ft | Student Non-EEA student 7,000 Ft (about €18); EEA student 3,500 Ft; the student price age is 6–24 (not 26)
Duration guided tour 45 min, plus about 20 min for security
Transit · From Fisherman's Bastion take 16A + M2, about 21′; to St. Stephen's Basilica M2, about 18′
Details

Open Daily 08–18 in October; official ticket page: daily 8:00–18:00 from April 1 to October 31; visits are stopped on 10-20, 10-21 and 10-23 because of official events; 10-25 and 10-26 are not listed as closed, but tours may be cancelled at short notice when Parliament has an event

Youth ticket Under 6 free; family tickets have their own prices (non-EEA family ticket, child 5,600 Ft)

Notes The prices come from the price list valid from 2026-01-01, but they were only read on third-party sites (ticketlens.com and budabestlife.com, which agree); the price page on the official site has a CAPTCHA and was not read. For ID it only says "proof of discount eligibility" and does not say whether ISIC is accepted; the old database says "student card + passport". If any Companion is 25 or 26, count them at the adult price of 14,000 Ft. If you buy an EEA ticket for a non-EEA person, you have to pay the difference at the entrance. Old database 7,000 Ft: unchanged. Official ticketing is Jegymester: the time slots the official page listed for 10-25 were all sold out when viewed on 10-22; 10-26 was not seen in the list, so choose the date at jegymester.hu/parlament to check. The visit is 45 minutes, including an audio guide or commentary.

On 10-25 Sun the hall opens only in the afternoon (Mass in the morning); on 10-26 Mon you can enter all day. No closures noted

Youth ticket Under 18 pay the student price; free under 6

Combo ticket "All-in-one" = hall + terrace + treasury: adult 6,800 Ft, student 5,500 Ft (cheaper than buying hall + terrace separately: adults save 800 Ft, students save 500 Ft. Budapest Card holders get 20% off: all-in-one 5,400 Ft

Note The price list says the student price needs a "valid International or Hungarian Student Card", so ISIC is accepted. Famous paintings (main session 10-30 23:3x, second round): mostly Old Masters, Bruegel's Tower of Babel and Hunters in the Snow (the place with the most of his works in the world), Vermeer's The Art of Painting, Raphael, Titian, Rubens, Velázquez, and Klimt murals in the stairwell; no Monet or Van Gogh (for Monet go to the Albertina). The '∞' light sculpture between the two towers is about 28 × 6 m. It was lit on 2025-12-16 and was due to come down in 2026-08, but the Archdiocese of Vienna announced an extension to the end of 2027-05 (reported by vol.at and news.at, searched in the main session on 10-30 19:4x); what time it is switched off each night was not found. Seeing it from outside the church is enough, no need to go in, no ticket. The user went to see it around 20:05 on the night of 10-30. The user said they would skip the light show inside the church: the Light of Creation show does not run every day (only on selected dates at 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30, about 30 minutes each), and whether there are shows on 10-30 or 10-31 was not found; the twin towers' night lighting can be seen from outside every day. It originally had no coordinates, and transit.py looked up the name and found Süchteln Vorst Kirche in Germany; after adding coordinates it works fine

boulderbar Hannovergasse, Hannovergasse 21, 1200 Wien
BoulderingSuits meTop pick
Recommended for the evening of 10-31 (D-74): this is the only gym holding the Team Spirit Halloween team contest that day (sign-up 17:30–17:45, starts 18:00); you can sign up alone and be put in a random team; a big gym (the website says about 1300 m² of climbing area). 31.10 is also a route-reset day (Schraubtag)
Admission Adults €14.50 (same as all boulderbar Vienna gyms) | Students €13.10 (ages 18–26)
Duration 2–3 h
Transit · From U4 Friedensbrücke change to tram 5 or 12 for 2 stops to Wallensteinplatz, then 7′ on foot; or walk directly from Friedensbrücke, 11–13′ (checked on Transitous 10-31 13:52). From U4 Pilgramgasse near Blockfabrik, U4 goes straight to Friedensbrücke in 12′ with no change; back to Hbf about 28′ (6′ on foot to Klosterneuburger Straße/Wallensteinstraße, then 12 + U4 + U1)
Details

Open Sat 09:00–22:00 (official site, gym page, read in the main session 10-30 23:3x); Mon–Fri 09:00–23:00 (research table 10-18)

Note Shoe rental €4.50, chalk €2.00. Prices are from the boulderbar official price page (read 10-22) and the research table.

10-31 Team Spirit Halloween Edition (event page, read 10-31 11:3x): sign up at the front desk 17:30–17:45, starts 18:00; sign-ups are put into random teams of up to 5; people in Halloween costume are placed first and earn their team 5 points; with more than 50 people there are 10 teams; each team climbs 5 routes in each of 5 zones, 10 minutes per zone; each person picks a difficulty level (1: 5A–5C, 2: 5C–6A+, 3: 6A+–6B+, 4: 6B+–6C+, 5: 6C+–7A+); prizes are sponsored by Wild Country, Ottakringer and Sens, and the other sign-ups enter a raffle. The event page does not say whether signing up costs extra, whether people not in the contest can climb as usual, or when it ends. The official gym page says "Ca. 1300 m² Kletterfläche" (climbing surface, not floor area; the research table gives floor area about 1200 m², including about 120 m² outdoors, wall height up to 4.5 m); on 10-31 there is the "Team Spirit Halloween Edition" event, and the route-setting day (Schraubtag) is also moved to 31.10, so some walls will be closed. The first boulderbar, opened in 2012. In the 20th district, far from Hbf (about 27′ from Hbf plus a walk, research table). Coordinates from Nominatim (OpenStreetMap), checked 10-30.

Attersee boat trip

Attersee-Schifffahrt
SightsAnyoneOptional
Alternative, not in the current plan (looked up only because the lake starting with A was first taken to be Attersee); far from Bad Ischl, and the direct bus does not run on 10-30 because of school holidays, so only a backup. In October the scheduled boats run the south route only on Wednesday and Saturday
Admission Adult Rundkurs Nord €22.00; Rundkurs Süd €33.00; Große Seerundfahrt (one-day hop-on hop-off) €41.00; there are also section tickets (e.g. Attersee–Unterach one way, see the price table on the official site)
Details

Open Scheduled boats run until 01.11.2026 (Spätsaison 5.10–1.11). But the water is low: Seewalchen, Kammer and Parschallen are temporarily not served, and Rundkurs Nord is mostly not running right now (official daily-update page 2026-10-22: no scheduled boat that day, next one expected 10-24). Rundkurs Süd runs only on Wednesday and Saturday in October (10-28 Wed, 10-31 Sat): two departures, Attersee 11:45 (from Weyregg 11:23) and 14:15, arriving at Attersee at 14:05 and 16:35. Departures follow the daily-update page, which is published from 17:00 the day before, and boats are cancelled in bad weather.

Youth ticket No youth price

Combo ticket No combo with the cable car found (in July there is an Atterseebahn combo of Bahn+Schiff, but not in October)

Student ticket No student price (the official site has three tiers: adult, children 6–14.99 years, group or ermäßigt; the ermäßigt price applies only to groups of 15 or more)

Note Differs from the old third-party price: the third party says adult €36, while the official site for 2026 has Süd €33, Nord €22, grand tour €41. Attersee is far from Bad Ischl and not in the itinerary, only a backup. ISIC: not stated on the official site.

Rain Not advisable

Coordinates are the Salzbergbahn valley station; the valley section is 4.5–5.7 km with an ascent of about 430 m; the zigzag path (Serpentinenweg) straight up to the Salzberg from town is closed until spring 2027, so you can only go up from Echerntal; walkable in rain but slippery; (added) popularity counted by myself (0 Xiaohongshu posts). The half-day version walks only the valley section to the Waldbachstrub waterfall and back the same way, 2–2.5 h; the zigzag path is closed until spring 2027, so Salzberg can only be reached from Echerntal; I suggest the valley section only: AllTrails marks the whole loop "glacier potholes–Waldbachstrub–Salzberg" as Hard and [CLOSED] (10.8 km, ascent 749 m), and the zigzag path from town straight up to Salzberg is closed until spring 2027 (hallstatt.net road-closure page, read 10-22); popularity counted by myself (0 Xiaohongshu posts)

Note The official site explains: a Panoramalift goes from the upper cable car station to the Skywalk, and from there it is about a 15 minute walk to the Knappenhaus (start of the salt mine tour). Children under 4 can ride the cable car and go up to the Skywalk. The official site does not say outright that "the Skywalk is free", it only describes the process; whether there is an extra fee cannot be seen from this page, so it is understood as "included in the cable car ticket", marked as my understanding and not as the official wording.
